Psychological counseling is a brief intervention that provides an opportunity for UniGe students to find listening and support in relation to situations of psychological distress that may interfere with their course of study. Counseling promotes self-knowledge and awareness of personal resources to effectively cope with difficult situations encountered.
The psychological counseling course involves five meetings at regular intervals and then a final follow-up meeting about 3 months later. Privacy and confidentiality are guaranteed.
Since 2018, the psychological counseling service Insieme has been active in UniGe, a free service open to the student community.
With the PRISMA project, two additional free psychological counseling pathways have been activated for some specific populations, where confidentiality and privacy are guaranteed.
The first one is for male and female students, residents and interns, studying at the Giannina Gaslini Institute in Genoa. To book an appointment click here.
The second is aimed at international students and is delivered in English. To book an appointment click here.
